The Innovation Cell at Queen’s Valley School has been a hub of dynamic activities aimed at nurturing creativity, skill development, and social responsibility among students throughout the academic session 2023-24. Under the SEWA initiative (Social Empowerment through Work Education and Action), students from grades 9 to 12 enthusiastically participated in a diverse range of hands-on projects.
From the intricate artistry of handicrafts made from Paper Mache to the practicality of Candle Making, Crafting Storage Boxes, manufacturing Sanitary Pads, designing Jewellery, and creating Handmade Soap, students explored various facets of innovation and entrepreneurship. Our team of 5 students also participated in an Online pitching session – School Innovation Contest 2023-24 as per the direction of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell on 6 February 2024. They pitched the idea of making sanitary napkins using banana fibre and were highly appreciated for their innovative solution.
These activities not only equipped students with essential 21st-century skills such as problem-solving, teamwork, and communication but also instilled in them core values of empathy, sustainability, and social consciousness. Through their engagement in these projects, students learned the importance of empathy towards marginalized communities, the significance of sustainable practices, and the power of collective action in bringing about positive change in society.
The Innovation Cell’s endeavors reflect Queen’s Valley School’s commitment to holistic education, empowering students to become innovative thinkers, compassionate leaders, and responsible global citizens.
