On 9th May 2025, the students of Class XII B and D hosted a thought-provoking and creatively executed school assembly based on the theme “Swapping of Souls: A Parent-Child Exchange of Perspective.” This unique event was a vibrant expression of SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), encouraging intergenerational dialogue and promoting inclusivity within the school community. By opening up a conversation between past and present generations, the assembly aimed to bridge the gap between differing worldviews and foster mutual respect and understanding.
The central concept revolved around a soul-swap between parents and children. In this fictional but deeply meaningful exchange, students were transported back to the 1980s, where they experienced their parents’ youth—marked by simpler technologies, disciplined routines, and slower-paced lives. Meanwhile, the parents, now in their children's shoes, faced the reality of today’s digital age, academic competition, and the emotional complexities of Gen Z life. The narrative was brought to life through witty dialogues, expressive acting, and a relatable contrast between eras, making the audience laugh, reflect, and connect on a personal level.
The performances highlighted how each generation grapples with unique challenges, yet often overlooks the other's perspective. Through this powerful portrayal, the students emphasized the importance of empathy, open-mindedness, and the development of essential 21st-century skills such as critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and emotional intelligence.
The assembly concluded on a heartfelt note as students surprised their mothers with a soulful musical performance in celebration of Mother’s Day. The touching tribute received a warm and emotional response, bringing smiles and applause from the entire gathering.
Presented by the science students of class XII-B and XII-D, the assembly was a perfect blend of creativity, humor and emotion, leaving a lasting impression on students, parents and teachers alike.
