An Inter-Class Art Competition “Pointillism – Dot Symphony” was organized by Queen's Valley School for the students of Class IV on 27th August, 2026. Career Counselling Session (XI)

The competitive mindset fosters deeper with every year and for those who remain unguided, the admission process of universities can be quite the spiral - far too difficult to understand without any guidance. Class XI students of Queen's Valley School were fortunate to attend an enlightening workshop on 6th August, 2026 led by Mr. Harsh Wadhwa, a career counsellor with over 25 years of experience in the field. The learned resource person focused on preparing students in every aspect for the futures they aim to live. He led an interactive session and left students with immense clarity. His suggestions and advice certainly ignited optimism and foresight in the enthusiastic students in attendance of the session. The topic of discussion was not merely the overly competitive scene of foreign college admissions but also the morphing acceptance criteria and preference psychologies for Indian colleges. The session helped students navigate through the often-complex processes of selecting the right course, college and university.

The discussion centred on developing an understanding into the structure of profile building through a systematic order of mapping out one's interest, aptitude and proficiency in a certain subject, followed by pursuing a balance of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, making social contributions, executing decent measures of leadership and lastly, enhancing one's credibility with evidence of courses and internships undertaken. The session concluded on an inspiring note, empowering students to approach their career and university choices with greater awareness, confidence and purpose. The valuable insights shared in the session equipped the students with a clearer roadmap for building a well-rounded profile and making informed decisions about their future. The interaction was a meaningful step towards helping the young learners recognise their potential, plan strategically and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead with optimism and foresight.

                                    Special Assembly-Hiroshima Peace Day (IX D, E & F)

"Mankind must put an end to war, or war will put an end to mankind."

                                    — John F. Kennedy

The light of peace is far stronger than the darkness of war, and Hiroshima is the strongest proof of why humanity must always choose peace. It was not just any random war, it was a moment that changed human history forever — a single bomb that erased an entire city and left behind a lesson for generations. To commemorate and honour the lives lost, on 6th August, 2026, the students of Class IX-D, IX-E and IX-F presented a heartfelt special assembly on the theme ‘Hiroshima Peace Day’. The assembly was a harmonious blend of performances, including speeches, skit, dance and choir which depicted the journey from a modern classroom to the tragic morning of Hiroshima in 1945. Through scenes of sudden destruction and the symbolic act of making paper cranes, the students beautifully portrayed pain, hope and resilience. This collective effort made the assembly truly moving, helping everyone to remember, mourn and pledge for a more peaceful world. It left the audience with deep gratitude for peace and a promise to never let such history repeat itself.

The programme included a meaningful act, a melodious song, and a graceful dance performance, each conveying the importance of expressing gratitude in meaningful ways. Educational Heritage Walk to Purana Qila (IX)

On 4th August 2026, the students of Grade IX (Sections A to F) participated in an Educational Heritage Walk to Purana Qila, New Delhi. The visit was facilitated by KHOJ, an organization that promotes experiential learning by making history interactive and engaging. Prior to the visit, students were given a questionnaire related to the historical significance, architecture, and features of Purana Qila. They attempted the questions based on their existing knowledge, while leaving a few unanswered. At the monument, the facilitators from Khoj guided the students through various sections of Purana Qila, sharing fascinating stories, historical narratives, and diverse perspectives associated with the site. Through interactive discussions, observation-based activities, and thought-provoking questions, students gained a deeper understanding of the monument's history, architecture, and cultural importance. After completing the heritage walk, students revisited their questionnaires and were able to answer the previously unanswered questions using the knowledge they had acquired during the visit. The completed questionnaires were then submitted for assessment. The heritage walk was an enriching learning experience that encouraged students to observe, question, and interpret history beyond textbooks. It strengthened their understanding of India's rich heritage while fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and an appreciation for historical monuments. The visit successfully demonstrated that history can be experienced, explored, and understood through interaction with the past.
