EMBRACING WITH LOVE

Mother’s Day was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm at Queens Valley School on 8th May. The celebration began with a warm welcome and a tilak ceremony, creating a cheerful and loving atmosphere. Mothers and children enthusiastically participated in fun activities, including decorating tiaras together. The little ones lovingly made their mothers wear the tiaras and presented them with handmade flowers as tokens of love.
The event became even more exciting with engaging activities like the blindfold identification game and a lively newspaper dance, filling the surroundings with laughter and happiness. The celebration concluded with the “Mom’s Love Corner,” where children expressed their feelings through heartfelt messages for their mothers.
The special day created beautiful moments of bonding, and all the mothers felt loved, cherished, and truly delighted.

    WALKING WITH TAGORE

    To celebrate the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore, students enthusiastically participated in the activity “Working with Tagore on 7th May.” The children took part in singing activities and melodiously sang songs composed by Rabindranath Tagore along with the National Anthem. Their soulful performances created a joyful and patriotic atmosphere in the classroom. They participated in a choir presentation and expressed their admiration for the great poet through music. Listening to the beautiful compositions of Rabindranath Tagore was truly a delightful experience and served as a heartfelt tribute to his timeless contribution to literature, music, and culture.

      KATHA MANTHAN (VI)

                               “कहानियों में छिपा ज्ञान अनमोल होता है,
                                हर पात्र व जीवन का मोल होता है ।
                                कभी साहस, कभी प्रेम का संदेश मिल जाता है,
                                कहानी सुनकर हर मन उजियारा हो जाता है ।’’

      कहानियाँ केवल मनोरंजन का साधन नहीं होतीं, बल्कि वे बच्चों के व्यक्तित्व विकास, कल्पनाशक्ति एवं नैतिक मूल्यों के निर्माण में महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका निभाती हैं । प्रेरणादायक कथाएँ विद्यार्थियों को  जीवन में सही मार्ग अपनाने, सामाजिक मूल्यों को समझने तथा आत्मविश्वास के साथ अपनी बात प्रस्तुत करने की प्रेरणा देती हैं ।

      इसी उद्देश्य को ध्यान में रखते हुए ‘क्वींस वैली विद्यालय’ के प्रांगण में कक्षा-छठी की छात्राओं के लिए सतत् विकास लक्ष्य- 4 (गुणवत्तापूर्ण शिक्षा) पर आधारित ‘कथा मंथन – कहानीवाचन प्रतियोगिता’  का आयोजन दिनांक- 06.05.2026 (बुधवार) को किया गया । प्रतियोगिता का मुख्य उद्देश्य छात्राओं में वाचनकौशल, रचनात्मक अभिव्यक्ति एवं आत्मविश्वास का विकास करना रहा । प्रतियोगिता में छात्राओं ने विभिन्न प्रेरणादायक एवं शिक्षाप्रद कहानियों की रचनात्मक प्रस्तुति देकर सभी को प्रभावित किया । छात्राओं ने उत्साहपूर्वक भाग लेते हुए अपनी प्रतिभा का उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन  किया ।

        Educational Visit to Atal Innovation and Incubation Centre, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University

        An educational visit was organized by Queen’s Valley School for the students of Class XII (Computer Science and Informatics Practices) to the Atal Innovation and Incubation Centre at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The session was conducted by Ms. Jayanti from the Marketing Department, who provided an insightful overview of the centre and its role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among young minds.
        The Atal Innovation and Incubation Centre operates as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) with the guiding motto, “Bridging Ideas and Impact.” The centre focuses on nurturing innovative ideas and transforming them into impactful solutions across key sectors such as Socio-Tech, Agri-Tech, Environmental Technology, and Healthcare Technology.
        During the session, students were introduced to the fundamental requirements for building a successful startup. These include having a clear and innovative thought process, conducting thorough market research, securing adequate funding, and identifying a well-defined problem statement. The importance of solving real-world problems through practical and scalable solutions was strongly emphasized.
        The incubation centre provides extensive support to emerging startups. This includes expert guidance and mentorship, valuable networking opportunities—highlighted by the phrase “Your network is your net worth”—as well as financial assistance, dedicated workspace, and access to human resources through campus connect initiatives and hands-on experience. Additionally, the centre offers customized programs tailored to meet the specific needs of startups at different stages.
        Students also learned about various opportunities available to them through the centre, such as internship programs (ASPIRE, IGNITE, and SPARK), summer programs, and part-time opportunities for students and early-stage professionals. These initiatives aim to equip students with practical skills and real-world exposure to entrepreneurship.
        Overall, the visit was highly enriching and inspiring. It provided students with a deeper understanding of startup culture and encouraged them to think creatively and innovatively. The experience motivated students to explore entrepreneurship as a potential career path and to contribute meaningfully to society through innovation.

          MOMENTS OF MINDFULNESS

          To celebrate Buddha Jayanti, a Yoga Activity was conducted on 5th May for the students of PP-II to promote the importance of a healthy mind and body. The celebration aimed to introduce children to the teachings of Lord Buddha, such as peace, kindness, mindfulness, and compassion. The little learners enthusiastically participated and performed different yoga asanas with great energy and excitement.
          The activity helped children understand the benefits of yoga, concentration, and physical fitness in a fun and engaging manner. It was a refreshing and enjoyable experience that encouraged students to follow the values of calmness, discipline, and positivity inspired by Lord Buddha’s teachings.

            When Culture Sings Together (X)

            “Music is the universal language that brings every culture together in harmony.”

            On 5th May 2026, Queen’s Valley School organized an inspiring Inter-House Singing Competition for the students of Class X on the theme “When Culture Sings Together.” The event celebrated the rich diversity of world cultures through music, as different groups from each house presented global songs that reflected unity in diversity and cultural harmony. The competition aimed to promote appreciation for international traditions while nurturing students’ musical talents and confidence. The competition was thoughtfully designed to enhance qualities such as creativity, coordination, expression, and stage presence. Each group showcased songs from different parts of the world, blending melodies, languages, and cultural elements beautifully. The performances were vibrant and engaging, with students demonstrating excellent vocal skills, rhythm, and teamwork. Their efforts highlighted not only their musical abilities but also their respect for global cultures. The judges appreciated the originality, synchronization, and emotional connection displayed by each group. Teachers and students alike applauded the spirit of unity and collaboration that defined the event, making it a memorable and successful celebration of music and culture.

              Echoes of Innocence (III)

              The “Echoes of Innocence” Music Competition for Class III was successfully organised at Queen’s Valley School on 4th May 2026. The event commenced with a preliminary round, where students showcased their musical talents, and the best performers were selected for the final round. The participants were evaluated on the basis of melody, rhythm, costume, and overall presentation.

              The students displayed great enthusiasm, confidence, and creativity, making the event lively and engaging. Their performances reflected excellent coordination, expression, and stage presence.

              The competition also helped students develop important 21st century skills such as communication, creativity, and self-confidence. Through their performances, students enhanced their stage presentation and expressive abilities. The event encouraged critical thinking, cultural appreciation, and effective participation, making learning more engaging and meaningful for the young learners.

                GRATITUDE DRIVE

                Labour Day was celebrated on 4th May with great enthusiasm in the Foundational Stage to honour the hard work and dedication of community helpers. The celebration aimed to teach children the importance of every profession and encourage respect and gratitude towards those who make our lives comfortable and safe.
                Parents contributed small tokens of appreciation, which were distributed to the community helpers as a gesture of gratitude. Adding to the celebration, the students of Class 1 made beautiful “Thank You” badges for the helpers. The activity was a meaningful learning experience that promoted kindness, respect, and appreciation for every profession.

                  The Sway of Seven Sisters (XII)

                  The students of Class XII organized a vibrant and culturally rich dance competition titled “The Sway of Seven Sisters”, celebrating the diverse heritage of Northeast India through the performing arts. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from all four houses—Peace, Integrity, Courage, and Truth—each presenting captivating performances inspired by the traditional dance forms of the northeastern states.

                  The competition beautifully showcased the cultural essence of Manipur, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, and Meghalaya, with participants presenting graceful and energetic renditions of their folk traditions. Through colorful costumes, synchronized choreography, and expressive storytelling, the performers paid tribute to the unique customs and spirit of the region.

                  Each house demonstrated remarkable dedication, creativity, and teamwork, making the competition both engaging and memorable for the audience and judges alike. The event not only highlighted the artistic talent of the students but also served as an educational experience, deepening appreciation for India’s cultural diversity.

                  After careful evaluation by the judges, Courage House emerged victorious, impressing everyone with their outstanding performance, stage presence, and authenticity in representation.
                  “The Sway of Seven Sisters” was a grand success, leaving the audience inspired by the beauty and richness of Northeast India’s cultural traditions.

                    Fold-a-Scape (V)

                    The Fold-a-Scape Activity for Class V was conducted from 27th April to 1st May 2026 during art periods.

                    The activity focused on enhancing students’ understanding of landscape composition, depth, and perspective.

                    Students used crayons, sketch pens, and colour pencils to create their work, showing creativity, neatness, and attention to detail.  The activity was engaging and helped strengthen their artistic skills and understanding of spatial composition.
