WEB WEAVERS - HTML Designing (VI)

“Coding creativity today for smarter cities tomorrow.”

On 29th December 2025, Queens Valley School conducted a Webpage Designing Competition for the students of Class VI on the theme “Smart Cities of the Future,” inspired by SDG 9. The event provided a platform for young learners to explore the fundamentals of HTML and CSS while transforming ideas into digital designs.
Students created engaging webpages using basic coding concepts, integrating short slogans, captions, and simple layouts to express their vision of future-ready cities. The designs reflected thoughtful planning, creativity, and a growing understanding of web design principles. The judges appreciated the students’ alignment with the theme, effective use of HTML tags, creative application of CSS, and overall innovation.
More than just a competition, the experience strengthened essential skills such as digital literacy, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Through this enriching platform, students enhanced their ability to apply basic HTML and CSS skills to design webpages and present meaningful digital content using text and images.

PLAYFULLY REIMAGINED - Toy Making (VIII)

‘’When we recycle, we give waste a second life and the Earth a better tomorrow.”

Queen’s Valley School organized a Playfully Reimagined Toy Making Competition for the students of class VIII 26th December 2025 with the objective of developing material-handling skills, creativity, and awareness about environmental responsibility. The competition encouraged students to create innovative toys using e-waste and other waste materials such as discarded wires, cardboard, old plastic items, fabric scraps, and packaging materials, promoting the values of reuse and recycling.
Students participated with great enthusiasm and imagination, transforming waste materials into functional, visually appealing, and playful toys. The entries reflected originality and thoughtful construction, with students skilfully handling materials to ensure safety, durability, and usability. A variety of colours, textures, and mechanisms were used, showcasing strong design sense and creative problem-solving abilities.
The activity enhanced students’ creativity, planning, and material management skills while conveying meaningful environmental messages through their toy designs. Many toys highlighted the importance of reducing e-waste and protecting the environment, making learning both engaging and purposeful.
The entries were judged on the basis of Material Handling and Use of E-Waste, Creativity and Originality, Presentation and Visual Appeal, Functionality, and Environmental Message. The competition served as a valuable platform for students to express their ideas in a playful yet responsible manner, nurturing innovation along with environmental consciousness.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY - Embracing Individuality and Self-Acceptance (VIII A & B)

An assembly on the theme Embracing Individuality and Self-Acceptance was organized by the students of Classes VIII A and B on 18th December 2025. The programme aimed to highlight the importance of valuing one’s uniqueness and accepting oneself with confidence.

The assembly opened with a warm introduction, after which the students presented a meaningful role-play showcasing real-life situations where individuals learn to appreciate their differences. Their expressive performances and thoughtful messages left a strong impact on the audience. The role-play was followed by a musical presentation, where students sang uplifting songs celebrating self-worth and the beauty of being unique. Their melodious voices and enthusiastic participation added a joyful energy to the event.

Each student performed with dedication and sincerity, reflecting their understanding of the theme and making the assembly truly memorable.

The programme concluded with an inspiring address by the Principal, who praised the efforts of the students and teachers. She encouraged everyone to embrace their true selves, recognize their strengths, and support others on their journey of self-discovery.

Overall, the assembly was a grand success, spreading a powerful message of individuality and self-acceptance.

GEOMETRY IN ACTION - Crafting Visual Learning Tools (III)

Queen’s Valley School organized an Inter-Class Competition – “Geometry in Action: Crafting Visual Learning Tools” for Class III on 15th December 2025. The activity aimed to integrate creativity with mathematical learning, encouraging students to depict “Future India” through the use of geometric shapes.

Students enthusiastically created colourful sceneries featuring futuristic cities, eco-homes, and technological innovations using 2D shapes like circles, squares, triangles, and rectangles. In the final round, participants recreated and presented their work, confidently explaining the geometric figures used in their designs.

The event fostered imagination, spatial awareness, and presentation skills, showing that geometry can be both artistic and practical. The judges appreciated the participants for their creativity, neatness, and conceptual clarity.

The competition concluded on an inspiring note, motivating students to see mathematics as a tool for innovation and creative expression.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY - The Book Parade (III Cuckoo)

Queen’s Valley School organized a special assembly titled “The Book Parade” on 12th December 2025 in the Cultural Hall. The assembly was presented by the students of Class III Cuckoo with the aim of highlighting the importance of books in shaping young minds and nurturing a love for reading.
The programme commenced with a soulful prayer, setting a positive and joyful tone for the day. The students showcased a delightful series of performances, including a short skit, poems, songs, and creative presentations, all centered around the value of books and reading. Through their confident expressions and colorful portrayals, the young learners conveyed the message that books are true companions and gateways to knowledge and imagination.
The performances reflected how books help children learn values, creativity, and wisdom in an engaging manner.
The assembly concluded with the national anthem, leaving the audience inspired and appreciative of the efforts of the young performers and the timeless importance of books in our lives.

Stream Choice Counselling for Class X

A comprehensive Stream Choice Counselling Sessions for Class X students was conducted at Queen’s Valley School from 25th November to 5th December for around 200 students, with the objective of orienting them towards various subjects and their future perspectives.

During the sessions, students were introduced to Accounts, Business Studies, Political Science, Geography, Psychology, Mathematics, Home Science, Fashion Studies, Legal Studies, Computer Science, Informatics Practices, Engineering Graphics, Applied Mathematics, Physical Education, and Yoga. Subject teachers highlighted the curriculum framework, skill requirements, higher education pathways, and diverse career opportunities associated with each subject.

The sessions proved beneficial in helping students understand their interests and aptitudes, thereby enabling them to make informed and confident academic choices for senior secondary education.

STICKS & SCRAPS- Handmade Wall Hangings (III)

Recycling turns waste into resources, problems into solutions, and habits into actions.

Queen’s Valley School organized a Wall Hanging Making Competition for students on 3rd December 2025 with the objective of promoting creativity and sustainable practices. The competition encouraged participants to design decorative wall hangings using old fabric scraps, cardboard, waste paper, etc. emphasizing the importance of recycling and reuse.
Students enthusiastically showcased their artistic skills by transforming discarded materials into attractive and meaningful wall décor. A wide variety of textures, patterns, and colour combinations were used, reflecting innovation and thoughtful design. The activity not only enhanced students’ aesthetic sensibilities but also fostered awareness about environmental conservation.
Entries were judged on the basis of Creativity and Originality, Effective Use of Waste Materials, Neatness, Design, and Overall Presentation. The competition provided a valuable platform for students to express their ideas while developing skills such as creativity, planning, and resourcefulness.
