Orientation Programme for Pre-School and Pre-Primary (2025-26) Parents
“You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.
- A A Milne

An Orientation Programme for parents of the students of Pre-School and Pre-Primary was organized on 29 March, 2025 in the Cultural Hall of Queen’s Valley School. It served as a significant moment to familiarize them with the school and marked the commencement of a journey towards holistic development of their wards. The session began with an address by the principal, Ms Ambika Roshan who reassured the parents about their daughters being in safe hands. To break the ice, the parents were involved in activities and got a chance to express their thoughts.

New beginnings can often present challenges and difficulties, but embracing them and learning from them can often lead to growth and valuable experiences. Thus, to apprise the parents about the mission and vision of the school focusing upon the safety and security of the students, a PowerPoint presentation was shown. The school counsellor, Ms Bhumika, emphasized upon the importance of cooperation between parents and teachers to nurture the young minds.

The orientation ended on a powerful message by the teachers to appreciate each child and embrace the fact that each child is unique. The parents’ active participation and support made the orientation a huge success.

Disaster Preparedness Workshop by National Disaster Response Force(X)

By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.
      — Benjamin Franklin

On March 19 2025, Queen’s Valley School organized a National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) workshop for Class X to educate students on disaster management and survival techniques in critical situations. The workshop aimed to enhance awareness about natural and man-made disasters while equipping students with essential life-saving skills.

The NDRF team provided insights into different types of disasters, including earthquakes, floods, fire hazards and accidents. They emphasized the importance of preparedness, quick response and effective communication during emergencies. Through interactive discussions, students learned about creating emergency kits, evacuation procedures and essential first-aid measures.

One of the most engaging parts of the workshop was the live demonstration by the NDRF personnel. They showcased crucial survival techniques, including the correct way to perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), a life-saving procedure used during cardiac emergencies. Students were also taught how to make a stretcher using easily available materials, which can be useful in situations where medical help is delayed. Additionally, the team demonstrated the correct methods for lifting and carrying injured people to safety, ensuring their well-being during rescue operations. Another essential skill covered was the treatment of fractures in different body parts, where students learned how to immobilize injuries before professional medical assistance arrives.

The workshop was an eye-opening experience for all attendees. It instilled confidence and a sense of responsibility among students, empowering them to act wisely during emergencies. The session concluded with an interactive Q&A round, where students actively participated and received expert guidance from the NDRF officers.

This initiative by the NDRF was highly beneficial in fostering a culture of disaster preparedness among young minds. The school expressed gratitude to the NDRF team for their valuable insights and practical demonstrations that could help save lives in the future.
