Educational Visit to Atal Innovation and Incubation Centre, Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University

An educational visit was organized by Queen’s Valley School for the students of Class XII (Computer Science and Informatics Practices) to the Atal Innovation and Incubation Centre at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The session was conducted by Ms. Jayanti from the Marketing Department, who provided an insightful overview of the centre and its role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship among young minds.
The Atal Innovation and Incubation Centre operates as a Non-Profit Organization (NPO) with the guiding motto, “Bridging Ideas and Impact.” The centre focuses on nurturing innovative ideas and transforming them into impactful solutions across key sectors such as Socio-Tech, Agri-Tech, Environmental Technology, and Healthcare Technology.
During the session, students were introduced to the fundamental requirements for building a successful startup. These include having a clear and innovative thought process, conducting thorough market research, securing adequate funding, and identifying a well-defined problem statement. The importance of solving real-world problems through practical and scalable solutions was strongly emphasized.
The incubation centre provides extensive support to emerging startups. This includes expert guidance and mentorship, valuable networking opportunities—highlighted by the phrase “Your network is your net worth”—as well as financial assistance, dedicated workspace, and access to human resources through campus connect initiatives and hands-on experience. Additionally, the centre offers customized programs tailored to meet the specific needs of startups at different stages.
Students also learned about various opportunities available to them through the centre, such as internship programs (ASPIRE, IGNITE, and SPARK), summer programs, and part-time opportunities for students and early-stage professionals. These initiatives aim to equip students with practical skills and real-world exposure to entrepreneurship.
Overall, the visit was highly enriching and inspiring. It provided students with a deeper understanding of startup culture and encouraged them to think creatively and innovatively. The experience motivated students to explore entrepreneurship as a potential career path and to contribute meaningfully to society through innovation.
