WORD WIZARD CONTEST (VI-IX & XI)

The English faculty of QVS successfully conducted the Word Wizard Contest on 30 January, 2026. The event was designed to enhance students’ vocabulary, spelling accuracy and contextual understanding of language while nurturing confidence and clarity in verbal expression.

After a series of qualifying rounds, the shortlisted participants competed in the final round, which tested their ability to analyse words, apply meanings appropriately and respond promptly under time constraints. The activities encouraged critical thinking, quick decision-making and cognitive flexibility, enabling students to sharpen their problem-solving skills in a dynamic learning environment.

Throughout the competition, students demonstrated effective communication, adaptability and collaboration, reflecting essential competencies required in the 21st century. The format of the event promoted healthy competition, active listening and respect for peers, reinforcing values of teamwork and sportsmanship. The audience remained actively engaged, contributing to an atmosphere of enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity. The event concluded on a successful note, leaving participants more confident and linguistically empowered.

    Road Safety Month Celebration at QVS

    Queen’s Valley School, Dwarka actively observed National Road Safety Month (1–30 January 2026) with great enthusiasm, in alignment with the theme “Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha.” To mark the occasion, the school organized a series of interactive workshops and awareness activities to educate students about the importance of road safety.

    Students participated enthusiastically in sessions focusing on traffic rules, road signs, pedestrian safety, correct use of helmets and seat belts and responsible road behavior. The workshops included discussions, visual presentations and practical demonstrations that helped students understand the meaning and importance of various traffic and warning signs used on roads.

    These initiatives aimed to inculcate discipline, alertness and a sense of responsibility among students, motivating them to follow traffic rules and spread awareness within their families and the community. The programme reinforced the message that road safety awareness is essential for saving lives.

      LOGIC QUEST- Math Board Game (VII)
      “Learning becomes meaningful when knowledge is applied creatively.”
       
      LOGIC QUEST- Math Board Game Competition was organized for Class 7 with the aim of fostering creativity while encouraging the practical application of mathematical concepts in an engaging and interactive manner. During the preliminary round, participants designed original and innovative board games incorporating various mathematical ideas such as calculations, logic, and problem-solving. Each game was presented before the class with a clear explanation of the rules, method of play, and the mathematical concepts involved, promoting clarity of thought and effective communication.
       
      In the final round which was held on 28 Jan’26, shortlisted participants presented a live demonstration of their board games and elaborated on the mathematical concepts used. They confidently responded to questions related to gameplay and mathematical reasoning, reflecting strong analytical and presentation skills. The competition proved to be a meaningful learning experience, enhancing logical thinking, creativity, and conceptual understanding of mathematics. Winners were selected based on creativity, clarity of rules, and accuracy in the application of mathematical concepts.

        THE GREEN CRAFT CHALLENGE - Repurposing Bottles (IX)

        “Small creative actions can make a big difference for our planet.”

        Queen’s Valley School organized THE GREEN CRAFTCHALLENGE – Repurposing Bottles SDG-13 on 28 January,2025 with the aim of fostering creativity, environmental awareness, and responsible waste management among students. The activity encouraged participants to creatively reuse discarded plastic and glass bottles, transforming them into useful, decorative, and innovative craft items while promoting the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle.

        Students enthusiastically participated in the challenge, showcasing their imagination and craftsmanship by converting waste bottles into planters, pen stands, bird feeders, lamps, organisers, decorative showpieces, and utility items. Through careful cutting, shaping, colouring, and assembling, students demonstrated excellent material-handling skills and a strong sense of safety and functionality.
        The creations reflected originality and thoughtful design, with students skilfully incorporating colours, textures, and embellishments to enhance visual appeal. Many entries emphasized eco-friendly practices and conveyed powerful messages about reducing plastic pollution and protecting natural resources. The challenge not only nurtured artistic expression but also helped students understand the importance of repurposing waste in everyday life.

        The activity strengthened students’ creativity, planning ability, fine motor skills, and environmental sensitivity. By turning waste bottles into meaningful crafts, students learned that sustainability can be both innovative and enjoyable.
        The entries were judged on the basis of creativity and originality, Effective use of bottles, presentation and visual appeal, functionality, and environmental message. The Green Craft Challenge proved to be an engaging and impactful platform, encouraging students to think creatively while developing a sense of responsibility towards the environment.

          Inter House Kabaddi (VI-XII)
          Sports like Kabaddi teach us that strength wins matches, 
          but teamwork, discipline, and determination build champions.
           
          An Inter-House Kabaddi Competition for classes VI-XII was organised to promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students on 28th January, 2026 . The matches were conducted according to standard kabaddi rules. Teams from all houses participated with great enthusiasm, and the games were supervised by referees and sports teachers to ensure fair play.

            ECO PLAYGROUND – Creating Green Games (VI)

            The ‘ECO PLAYGROUND – Creating Green Games’ competition was organised at Queen’s Valley School on 27th January 2026 for students of Class VI, with the aim of fostering creativity and environmental responsibility among young learners.

            The event encouraged participants, working in groups of three or four, to design innovative games using recyclable and reusable materials. Each team selected a sub-theme under Sustainable Development Goal 13 – Climate Action, such as Energy Conservation, Waste Segregation, Save the River, Save Forest, Green Transportation, and Disaster Management.

            The “Eco-Friendly Playground – Creating Green Games” served as a meaningful and enriching experience, instilling in students a sense of responsibility towards the planet while celebrating creativity and collaboration.

              Observance of Pariksha Pe Charcha – 2026

              Queen’s Valley School observed Pariksha Pe Charcha – 2026 from 12th to 23rd January 2026 with active participation of students, as per the guidelines of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The activities were conducted around the central themes of Swadeshi and the courage and valour of our Armed Forces and their self-less service to the nation (Operation Sindoor).
              The observance began with students taking a Swadeshi Pledge, committing themselves to promote Indian-made products, support Atmanirbhar Bharat, and contribute towards the vision of a strong and developed India.

              Students participated in poster making and poetry writing on Operation Sindoor, expressing patriotism and respect for the Armed Forces. Yoga sessions were organized to help students manage exam-related stress and improve concentration. Meme creation activities enabled students to creatively present their examination experiences in a positive manner. Students also took part in Vande Mataram song singing, fostering national pride.

              To promote physical fitness and traditional values, students also participated in indigenous sports such as Kabaddi and Kho-Kho, fostering team work, discipline and joyful learning.
              The programme concluded on 23rd January 2026 (Parakram Diwas) with a Quiz on Operation Sindoor, enhancing students’ awareness and understanding of courage, resilience and national values.
              The observance successfully promoted positivity, confidence, stress management and patriotic values among students.

                REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS 2026

                Queen’s Valley School buzzed with patriotic fervour as Republic Day was celebrated with great zeal and vigour. The programme commenced with the tradition of lamp lighting and paying respect to the national flag by the esteemed members of the managing committee. These symbolic acts invoked unity and prosperity as the audience stood in reverence. 
                 
                The programme unfolded with a series of heartfelt performances including a prayer and a poetry recital that highlighted the responsibilities accompanying our rights. The rendition resonated deeply, evoking our nation’s timeless spirit and resilience. This was followed by a melodious patriotic song sung by the school choir, filling the hearts with love for the nation. The students also presented a meaningful skit depicting the journey of India from independence to becoming a republic on 26 January 1950, highlighting the importance of the Constitution. Vibrant dance performances showcased India’s unity in diversity and celebrated the values of democracy and freedom. The energetic choreography left the audience roaring with applause. The programme inspired everyone to be responsible citizens and respect the ideals of our nation. 
                 
                Through this learning experience, students strengthened key 21st-century skills such as civic responsibility, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking. The students understood the significance of Republic Day and the importance of the Indian Constitution. The celebration concluded on a proud and patriotic note by the Chairman, Shri Mahavir Goel, which ignited patriotism in every heart. The event was a fitting tribute to the world’s largest democracy.

                  HASI KE MOTI- BAL KAVIYO KI MEHFIL (V)

                  "The joy of life lies in laughter and making others laugh."

                  On 20th January 2026, Queen’s Valley School conducted  a cheerful and inspiring ‘Hasi ke Moti – Bal Kaviyo Ki Mehfil’ Hasy Kavita Pratiyogita for the students of Class IV inspired by SDG 4. The aim of the event was to develop children's confidence, creativity, and expression through poetry.

                  Many students participated with great enthusiasm and presented their self-written or learned poems filled with humor, motivation, and positive messages. Some poems made everyone laugh, while others gave strong messages like “Never give up”, “Believe in yourself”, and “Help others”.

                  The audience enjoyed the rhymes, gestures, and confident delivery of all participants. Judges appreciated the efforts, expression, and presentation skills of the children.

                    CODE CARNIVAL – Where Imagination Meets Innovation (V)

                    Queen’s Valley School organized an Inter-Class competition CODE CARNIVAL– Where Imagination Meets Innovation for the students of Class V on 18 January, 2026 aligned with SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). Students created interactive stories in Scratch based on the theme “Innovation for a Greener Planet.” Through coding, characters, animations, and dialogues, students showcased ideas related to sustainability, clean energy, recycling, and eco-friendly solutions. The event aimed to nurture creativity, logical thinking, and the responsible use of technology. The competition inspired the young learners to innovate thoughtfully for a sustainable future.

                      THE INTELLECTUAL SHOWDOWN - Debate Competition (IX)

                      The school organised The Intellectual Showdown : Debate Competition for Class IX on 16 January 2026 with the objective of promoting critical thinking, effective communication, and analytical reasoning among students. The event was aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 9 – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, encouraging students to examine the role of emerging technologies in shaping the future.

                      The topic for the debate was “AI can replace human creativity and expression.” Each team was allotted a time limit of five minutes to present their arguments, followed by an interjector round that assessed their spontaneity, logical reasoning, and clarity of response.

                      The participants displayed commendable research skills, structured presentation, and confidence while articulating their viewpoints. The adjudicators evaluated the teams on content quality, organisation and structure, clarity and confidence, relevance, and responsiveness to the interjector’s questions.

                      The competition served as an intellectually stimulating platform, fostering innovation, respectful discourse, and awareness of technological advancements among students.
