On 31st January 2025, Queen's Valley School, Dwarka, observed Dry Day for Tobacco as part of the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP).

The event aimed to raise awareness among students of Classes 8 and 9 about the harmful effects of tobacco use, particularly its link to various cancers. This initiative is part of a monthly awareness drive in Delhi to reduce tobacco consumption.

With World Cancer Day approaching on 4th February 2025, the programme emphasized the critical connection between tobacco use and cancer. The session included informative discussions on how tobacco increases the risk of lung, mouth, and throat cancers, along with other health issues. Students were educated on the importance of avoiding tobacco and the long-term consequences it can have on health.

The school encouraged students to share this knowledge within their families and communities, promoting a tobacco-free environment. Queen’s Valley School remains committed to supporting national efforts for a healthier, tobacco-free society and raising awareness about the prevention of tobacco-related diseases.
