On Saturday, 26th October 2024, Queen’s Valley School, Dwarka, in collaboration with Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dwarka, organised a Breast Screening Camp followed by a Health Talk on Women’s Hygiene to observe Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The event began with the Breast Screening Camp, where female teaching staff participated in clinical breast examinations. Dr. Yashica Gudesar, Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Max Super Speciality Hospital, led the screenings. The goal was to raise awareness about the importance of self- exams and early detection of breast cancer.
Following the screenings, Dr. Gudesar conducted a Health Talk on Women’s Hygiene. She discussed essential issues such as menstrual health, hygiene practices, and preventive care. She underscored the vital role of self-care, emphasising that maintaining health is a continuous responsibility. She pointed out that small, consistent changes in hygiene and the practice of regular health screenings can play a crucial role in preventing the development of serious health conditions.
The event was attended by all female teaching staff, who engaged actively in both the screening and the talk. The initiative successfully raised awareness about breast health and hygiene, empowering the staff to take proactive steps toward their health and well-being.
